5 Things To Look At When Shopping For Ladies Golf Clubs

Ladies golf clubs have special features as compared to those for men. Here are the most important factors to consider when buying them.

Men’s and women’s golf clubs are made pretty much the same, in terms of general design.  However, there are some distinct differences with how women’s clubs are produced that allow you to make the most out of the clubs for the ways in which men’s and women’s body structures are different.  The same club really isn’t going to work for both as well as you might think, and it’s important that you find a club that’s meant to work with you more naturally.  That way, you get the most out of every stroke, and you can be sure that you’re able to make your time on the course count that much more.

Of course, this also means that you have to be prepared to buy ladies golf clubs and that means knowing what you should be looking at.  Shopping for your first set of clubs is never easy, because this is a complicated world of technicalities, in which the slightest setting change can mean getting 15 more yards out of each major stroke, or 15 less no matter how hard you swing.  Here are 5 things that you’re always going to want to be mindful of when getting fitted for ladies beginner golf clubs, or even a seasoned pro’s set:

1) Be mindful of the different sizes.

One of the biggest differences between men’s and women’s golf clubs, is just that the latter are designed to be that little bit shorter.  On average, ladies golf clubs tend to be a bit shorter, usually by one inch or even more, to accommodate the different average height that women have.  This way, you can be sure that the clubs more naturally accommodate your stance, which is on average going to be lower than a man’s.  something that simple can make a really big difference in terms of how naturally you’re able to drive, or even putt the ball, so it’s important to keep mindful.

2) Usually loft needs to be adjusted in a different way for ladies.

Whether you aspire to playing on the LPGA tour, or if you just like to be able to compete with anyone on the course, you need clubs that are designed to help you out.  Because women are biologically designed to have less upper body strength than men, this is something that you have to counteract with a club that’s built to help you.  Typically women’s clubs have a bit more loft, so the club face is more upward facing, so that the ball is really going to fly high.  This ensures that you get maximum distance out of your long shots, so you can drive the ball as far as possible.

3) Shaft flex is also vital.

Again, because women swing the club differently than men in most cases, you have to find the right type of ladies golf clubs that allow you to get the most out of each stroke.  That’s typically why you want to go with a shaft that’s made to flex and move around, so that you’re going to be able to get more power on the ball.  A more flexible shaft is going to work just like a small spring, so that you can really boost your power by a pretty significant margin over what you would be able to do with a shaft that’s not quite so flexible.

4) Select the proper grip size.

Women’s golf clubs tend to have a bit of a shorter grip, as well as one that’s not as pronounced as in a men’s club.  But despite this being a standard, you still want to look into what’s most comfortable for you.  With many ladies golf club sets, you’re going to find that the grips can be larger or smaller, based upon your comforts.  This part of the selection is more about choosing those that are the right shape, so that you’re going to be able to hold your club that much more naturally, which is a necessity when you want to be able to get the most out of your swings.

5) Buy used if this is your first time shopping for clubs.

Go with a good set of used ladies golf clubs if this is your first type shopping, so that you can save money on your set.  The problem with most sets of clubs is that they are really expensive, and can set you back a few hundred dollars really easily.  But you can get a great set of used ones for less than half the cost of new.  Just be sure to carefully inspect your used ladies golf club sets, to ensure that you’re getting high quality clubs in addition to the value for money that you want.
