6 Factors Of Custom Made Golf Clubs You’ll Have To Consider

Custom made golf clubs can be a godsend, but choosing the wrong settings can ruin the experience. Here are the most important factors to keep in mind.

Getting your first set of custom clubs?  There’s nothing quite like having a set of clubs all to yourself, especially one that is perfectly customized to your needs.  However, what you’re going to find is that there are a lot of standards that can dictate how well a set of clubs is going to work for you.  That’s why it’s important to realize what you’re going to be fitted for, so that you can be sure you’re able to control every single aspect of club construction to your tastes. This is really the whole point of getting these types of clubs in the first place, and if you don’t know what to buy, it’s going to mean you have an inferior golf product.

Basically, you just want to understand what exactly goes into custom fit clubs, so that you’re prepared for every little adjustment that needs to be made, into the structure of your clubs.  By knowing the process, you can be sure that you’re better educated yourself, into what you need from a golf club.

1) Height is one of the first parts to approach.

You have to be sure that you get the right type of height for the actual size of your club.  This is to ensure that you’re able to hold the grip the right way, and get your stance perfect over the ball, before you’re going to swing.  A club that’s too long is going to put your grip off center, which reduces the power you can put behind the ball.  The same is true of those that are too short, as they cause you to swing unnaturally.

2) Grip lie is another really important facet of the construction of your club.

This part of custom built golf clubs is really important, because it’s the natural angle of your grip.  What you’re going to find on really advanced clubs, is that sometimes the grip is at a slight angle, to work with you natural swing position to allow you to get maximum power behind the ball.  That means that were you to lay the club flat against the ground, the grip would stick up slightly at an obtuse angle.  While not every golfer needs this sort of adjustment, it can provide a lot of natural help.

3) From there you want to consider the loft of your club.

This is a directional adjustment made to the actual face where you strike the ball on your club. You have to have the right loft, to be sure that you’re going to be more  naturally apt to smack the ball dead on in the right type of position.  This is really important, so that you can get maximum power, but more vitally, maximum control behind the ball, with every single stroke.

4) Shaft flex is also important for your swing comfort.

Those with a slower swing are going to want a more flexible shaft on their custom fit clubs, because that provides for that little bit more power.  This way, you can ensure that you’re able to swing with more tenacity, and really get a lot of distance on the ball to make up for a slower swing.  However, if you have a fast and powerful type of swing, you want to go with a much more rigid type of shaft, so that it’s all controlled power that’s going through the ball, instead of a spin that will be instilled by the flexibility of the shaft.

5) Choose a more heavy or a more light club for your power level.

Going with a heavier or lighter club is also important for your personal strength and power.  If you’re not a powerful driver of the ball, you want a much lighter club, that’s made out of materials like titanium or graphite which can be that much more light.  This way, you can get more undeterred power on the ball.  But a material like stainless steel is more your style if you’re looking to power through the ball, and put some weight behind the force of your shots.

6) Also consider the brand of your custom built clubs carefully.

You also want to be sure that the brand of your clubs come from a company that you can trust.  For that you have to focus on the major providers like Callaway, or even Nike these days, as well as Taylor Made, to be sure that you’re getting quality golf gear.  This way, you can ensure that your golf equipment is going to be up to par in making you the best golfer you can become.
