Why Use Golf Range Finders To Improve Your Game?

Looking to fine tune your accuracy and find the best way to the pin? Golf range finders can do just that. Here's what you'll need to know about them.

Golf is a sport that takes a lot of practice in order for you to get good at, because of all the different aspects that you have to develop in order to really become an expert at the game.  There are so many things that you have to get a feel for.  That includes range, as well as really judging distance and conditions for how you’re going to hit the ball.  Few things actually work quite so well as golf range finders.  These are special types of scopes and electronics that are made to tell you perfectly just the range of where you’re trying to hit the ball, as well as where you are from the green.  With one, you can ensure that you’re going to be able to make your approach perfectly every single time.

Plus, what a range finder is also going to do for you, is give you a better idea of how to judge distance on your own, without the technology.  One thing that you’re going to find is that these are not always allowed for use when you’re playing in a tournament, so that things can be made more fair, as well as difficult.  By using golf laser rangefinders to get a feel for the different distances that you’re going to encounter, you can get used to what each distance really feels like, so that you’re going to know what to expect and how to estimate in the future.

But of course there are a lot of different types of rangefinders out there, so it’s important to get a feel for which sort is going to be right for you.  For that reason, there are a few things that you want to assess, in order to be sure that you’ve got golf range finders that you can count on when you’re on the course:

1) Decide upon which type of device you want to purchase.

There are a few different styles of golf range finders, so you’ll find that you can either go with those that are more electronic, or those that are more like scopes.  On the electronic side of things, you can find that you have a few options, but most of them involve laser technology.  This is where your rangefinder will literally shoot out a laser in the direction that you’re pointing, to read the distance of your exact target. This way, you can get real time information on how far away bunkers are, the fairway, or even how far the green itself may be.

Otherwise you can go with the classic styles of range finders which feature a measurement system right on the lens.  These are not quite so accurate, but are priced much more affordably than most other types, so they can be the perfect way to start out without having to commit too much money.

2) Make sure to find durable golf range finder binoculars.

This is really important, as not all types are going to be quite as durable as you might want, and they can break easily if you’re not especially careful.  That’s why it’s important that you find the right type of durable binoculars that are actually built to be used.  This means ensuring they have a sturdy hard case, that’s resistant to denting, scratching as well as impact damage from dropping.  Moreover, you also want to ensure that they are water proof, so that a slight rain storm, or other type of condition doesn’t compromise them when used.

3) You can also consider Golf GPS rangefinders in addition to scopes.

While scopes are fantastic for being quick use and durable, you’ll also find that golf GPS can be the way to go if you’re looking for a more in depth solution.  These are full digital readouts that provide you with every single nuance of the course, right in the palm of your hand. This way, you can tell which way you need to hit the ball, by being able to study an updated map, complete with all relevant information that you would need when you’re planning a shot.

The only downside being that most golf range finder GPS units only have a select number of golf courses stored in memory. That means you can only use them on courses that have been studied and uploaded to that company’s database.  That’s also why you want to go with a bigger brand, like Sky Caddie to be sure that you have a GPS that’s going to work just about anywhere.
